Bob & Grant Menzies
Bob Menzies is the founder and Managing Director of Adina. Bob completed an apprenticeship in watchmaking before launching Adina (initially known as Rolma Watches) in 1973. More than forty years later, Bob remains at the helm of Adina, focused on its future.
Grant Menzies is the Director of Adina, and son of company founder, Bob Menzies. Grant is extensively involved in the design of every new Adina watch and works closely with international manufacturers to ensure all Adina watch components meet strict quality standards. Grant also manages the wholesale distribution of Adina watches to independent Australian jewellery stores, as well as providing training and support to these retail partners.
Jason Valinoti
Jason is the Foreman of Adina’s repair workshop, and has worked with Adina for over 20 years. He began his career as an apprentice at Hepworth’s Jewellers in Cairns, gaining an understanding of the jewellery industry from the retailer perspective. With his extensive experience and qualification, Jason upholds Adina’s strong commitment to customer service and after-sales support. Under his expert guidance, Jason also trains the next generation of watchmaking apprentices at Adina, to share the legendary quality guidelines that are the foundation of the Adina business.
In his spare time, Jason loves working on cars, helping his friends, and above all else, mountain biking!
Paul Watson
After starting work as an apprentice at Adina more than 30 years ago, then going off to start his own, very prestigious, watch repair business for 20 years, Paul has returned to his roots as Adina’s Head of Production. His sharp eye for detail and functionality make Paul an invaluable collaborator in the design of every new Adina watch. Under his expert guidance, Paul also trains Adina’s next generation of watchmaking apprentices, to share the legendary quality guidelines that are the foundation of the Adina business.
In his spare time, Paul loves researching the latest tech and tasting the best food Brisbane has to offer!
Chris Gardener
Originally trained as a pastry chef, Chris took his love of precision and crafting to become a clockmaker, finishing his apprenticeship in 2006. With nearly 20 years of experience, Chris takes immense pride in repairing and restoring some of your most well-loved timepieces. That, coupled with his love for both antique and modern timepieces, is proven to result in happy, satisfied customer time and time again.
In his spare time, Chris loves to spend quality time at home with his wife a 2 dogs.
Oscar Hillman
Starting at Adina in 2019, Oscar has just completed his apprenticeship and continues to work for Adina, now as a fully qualified watchmaker.
In his spare time, Oscar loves playing video games and is a bit of a sneakerhead!
Alexander Knight
After beginning his studies in Music Production, Alex saw a position advertised at Adina and jumped in head first. Starting at Adina in 2021, Alex continues to work towards his qualification, having just entered the fourth year of his apprenticeship.
In his spare time, Alex loves mountain biking!
Alaina (Ally) Dewar
After working in Psychology and Child Care, Ally decided she needed a change of pace, which lead to her starting a watchmaking apprenticeship at Adina in 2022.
In her spare time Ally has an active social life and loves changing her hair colour frequently!
Ethan Harrison
With his parents owning a jewellery store just South East of Brisbane, Ethan felt a natural pull towards the watchmaking industry. With an aptitude for design and meticulous attention to detail, Ethan was offered an apprenticeship that he began in 2022.
In his spare time Ethan loves to cuddle his Cavalier, Lobster.
